BIG DENIM ENERGY

BDE is about finding purpose and building confidence through the creation of a patchwork jacket inspired by my love for denim and Megan Thee Stallion in a time (covid) when I felt lost, confused, and unsure of myself and the future of the world in a place (makeshift studio in my brother's bedroom) where having a space for self expression felt impossible. I want my audience to feel empowered in their own skin and feel like they can express themselves freely and boldly in my designs. I will use denim as a strong durable fabric, patchwork elements representative of the building of identity, contrast in silhouette of tight and loose, coverage and openness, and convey a provocative energy and allude to street style through a primary color palette, metal elements, and graffiti like patterns. My croquis represent body positivity through their variety and stand in strong confident poses.
