Who is the Designer?

I’m Jadie Geleerd, a 23-year-old designer working to grow my brand and create positive change in the fashion industry through sustainability and creativity. After graduating from the University of Illinois, I relocated to New York City to join Urban Zen, Donna Karan’s philosophy and lifestyle brand. The experience has deepened my understanding of the intersection between design, wellness, and purpose-driven fashion. I have designed and constructed garments for live fashion shows, jewelry, sculptures, paintings, photography, graphic design and more - across Champaign, IL, New York, NY, and Florence, Italy. I’m most proud of the entrepreneurial leap I took in 2021 when I executed on my idea to design, make and sell up-cycled bags and purses made from jeans, which became Jurses by Jadie, a US trademarked brand offering.  ​
